A powerful earthquake struck the Drake Passage region, a waterbody located between South America and Antarctica, on Friday, said the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Earlier, the intensity of the earthquake was expected to be around magnitude 8, but the USGS later downgraded it to magnitude 7.5.
However, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GRCG) said the earthquake measured 7.1 magnitude. On the other hand, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) of India measured the earthquake’s magnitude at 7.4
