An Israeli official has confirmed that the countryโs military carried out a strike targeting Hamas leaders in Qatarโs capital, according to AP.
Qatar, an energy-rich nation on the Arabian Peninsula, saw its state-funded broadcaster Al Jazeera acknowledge the explosion, though without providing details. Officials in Qatar did not immediately respond to phone calls seeking comment.
IDF confirms strikes
In a post on X, the Israel Defense Forces said they carried out a precise strike targeting the “senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organisation”.
“For years, these members of the Hamas leadership have led the terrorist organization’s operations, are directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre, and have been orchestrating and managing the war against the State of Israel.ย Prior to the strike, measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and additional intelligence,” the post read.

Qatar condemns attack
The Qatar government condemned the “cowardly Israeli attack”ย on Hamas headquarters in Doha, calling it aย violation of international law.
