Margot Robbie has turned down the offer to play Kylie Minogue in a film based on the singerโs life. The โBarbieโ star feels she cannot convey Kylie’s talent through her vocal abilities.

According to reports, Margot was chosen by Kylie to portray her in the biopic.

In 2023, Kylie was asked who she would like to play her in her biopic. โMargot Robbieโin my dreams. Sheโd have the Australian accent down, thatโs for sure,โ Kylie had said.

Reacting to the news that she was the singerโs top choice, Margot said: โThat is wild information. I am beyond honoured. Of course I could not do it. I canโt sing like Kylie. I donโt like it when people canโt actually sing and do a singing movie, you know?โ

Margot went on to reveal that she once had a boozy afternoon with the 57-year-old singer.

โI got a call from my team like, โKylie Minogue would like to meet up with you,โ and I was like, โOh my God, this is the best day of my lifeโ. I assumed she wanted to meet to talk about some sort of work thing or maybe she was putting together a charity event or something,โ the 35-year-old actress said.

โSo, I get to the Chateau Marmont, a place in LA, and Kylie sat down, the coolest, warmest, most divine creature youโve ever met,โ said Margot.

On the work front, Margot Robbie is gearing up for her latest romantic fantasy film โA Big Bold Beautiful Journeyโ with Colin Farrell that is set to be released by Sony Pictures in the United States and Canada on September 19.
