The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday carried out search operations at six locations in Kolkata, including a property owned by West Bengal minister Sujit Bose, as part of its investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of a civic organisation, according to a senior ED official.ย

The raids targeted Boseโ€™s residence-cum-office in Salt Lake and the homes of former officials of the Dum Dum Municipality.

The official clarified, โ€œTodayโ€™s raids are aimed at collecting documents linked to corruption. The office of the minister was not originally on our list.โ€ This indicates that the inclusion of Boseโ€™s property was a later addition to the operation.

Previously, in January 2024, the ED had conducted a raid at Boseโ€™s residence and interrogated him for over 12 hours in connection with the same recruitment irregularity case. The ongoing investigation focuses on gathering evidence related to alleged corrupt practices in the civic organisationโ€™s hiring process.
