Juhi Babbar Soni opens up about not being invited to Prateik Babbar’s wedding

Valentine’s Day 2025 was an unforgettable occasion for actor Prateik Babbar and actress Priya Banerjee, as the couple exchanged vows after years of dating.

However, their wedding celebrations were shadowed by controversy when Prateik’s half-brother, Arya Babbar, revealed that the Babbar family had not been invited to the ceremony. Now, his half-sister, Juhi Babbar Soni, has also spoken out about the situation, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding their absence.

Juhi Babbar Soni on Prateik’s wedding snub

In a candid conversation with the Times of India, Juhi Babbar Soni acknowledged Arya Babbar’s feelings, stating that he, like the rest of the family, was deeply hurt by not being part of Prateik’s special day.

However, she also made it clear that no estrangement could alter the fact that Prateik remains her brother and that they share the legacy of their father, veteran actor-politician Raj Babbar.

Juhi further elaborated, saying, “Right now, he is surrounded by a few people—whom we don’t wish to name—who have influenced him. But we don’t want to put him in the middle because that won’t help anyone.”

She emphasised that her words were not meant to suggest any discord between the family and Prateik’s new bride, Priya Banerjee. On the contrary, she expressed admiration for Priya, calling her “wonderful” and stating that Prateik was fortunate to have her as his partner.

Hints at outside influence

While Juhi refrained from naming individuals, she strongly implied that external influences played a role in the Babbar family’s exclusion from the wedding. She said, “The real sandwiching is happening because of someone else—someone desperate for publicity and importance.”

According to Juhi, these individuals possibly feared that Prateik’s father and siblings would overshadow the wedding, diverting attention from the newlyweds. However, she clarified that the family’s only concern was Prateik’s happiness and well-being.

A family that stands together

Juhi reiterated that there was no bad blood from their side, recalling how she had actively participated in Prateik’s first wedding celebrations. She also spoke about their father, Raj Babbar, who had stood by Prateik when his first marriage ended, offering him unwavering support.

Reflecting on her brother’s current state of mind, Juhi shared, “Right now, maybe he is processing things in his own way, woh khud ko khoj raha hai zara sa (he’s searching for himself a little).”

She conveyed understanding and patience, believing that time would heal any emotional distance. Confident that they would come together to celebrate many occasions in the future, she concluded, “For now, we are letting it pass.”

Prateik and Priya’s first public appearance as newlyweds

On February 14, Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee made their first public appearance as a married couple, stepping out for the paparazzi in coordinated ivory outfits.

The duo exuded happiness, sharing affectionate moments as they posed for the cameras, marking the beginning of their journey as husband and wife.
