Yes, you read that right! Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo have been roped in to play Fergus and Farkle, the sons of Shrek and Fiona, in โShrek 5โ.

Hernandez is best known for his work on โSaturday Night Liveโ. The actor has also appeared in โHappy Gilmore 2โ and is set to star in the upcoming comedy, โ72 Hoursโ.

Gisondo played Jimmy Olsen in โSupermanโ and also had supporting roles in โLicorice Pizzaโ and โBooksmartโ.

According to reports, Universal Pictures will release DreamWorks Animation’s โShrek 5โ on June 30, 2027.

The franchise’s voice cast of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are set to reprise their roles as Shrek, Donkey and Fiona. Zendaya is also joining the ogre fun as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, Felicia.

โShrek 5โ will be directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn. Vernon’s directing credits include โShrek 2โ and โMadagascar 2โ, and he is also the voice of Gingerbread Man (aka Gingy).

Dohrn worked on the second and third โShrekโ films as a writer and artist, and as head of story on the fourth film. Dohrn also voiced Rumpelstiltskin.

The film will be produced by Gina Shay, who produced “Shrek Forever After,” and by Meledandri. “Shrek 5” will be co-directed by Brad Ableson.

The four โShrekโ films have earned more than 2.9 billion USD worldwide, as well as inspired a Broadway musical, an immersive tourist destination in London, a spin-off series involving โPuss in Bootsโ, as well as events and attractions across Universal Studios parks.
