How Samantha balances fitness with autoimmune myositis: A lesson in resilience



After her diagnosis, Samantha took a break from acting for months. In many interviews she shared, โ€œsome days getting out of bed was hardโ€. Apart from functional medicine, her treatment included customized physiotherapy. Despite dealing with an autoimmune condition that causes inflammation and muscle weakness, she has steadily rebuilt her strength.

In a conversation with Nutrition coach Ryan Fernando, Samantha shared how weight training changed her life. In the podcast she shared her workouts 5 to 6 days a week and mornings are her personal favorite, as it โ€œsets up the mood for the dayโ€.

On social media, Samanthaโ€™s fitness routine doesnโ€™t give off the image of an easy journey. From barbell squats to deadlifts, Samantha trains with a level of intensity that reflects both discipline and determination. In many of her posts, she highlights the importance of form, controlled movements and progressive loading.
