Sandeepa Virk has broken her silence on spending time in Tihar Jail in a money laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
ย
The actor and influencer was granted bail by Delhi High Court in late 2025 after spending over four months in custody. She was released on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh.
ย
In a recent interview, Virk spoke at length about her experience in prison detailing the “inhumane” conditions inside Tihar Jail.
ย
“Tihar is a place I wouldn’t wish even on my worst enemy. When I went there for the first time, I told God that I don’t deserve this. On the first day, when I went to the washroom, I thought people say everything is karma, maybe I made some mistakes in a past life, knowingly or unknowingly. I felt I don’t deserve this.”
ย
Detailing the emotional toll, she said, “I used to pray that death should come and take me away. The worst feeling is when you see your parents coming to meet you while you’re inside jail.”

The actor also shared the physical and mental stress she had to endure during the time.
ย
“Imagine living with 500 people, it’s like domestic politics. My health deteriorated badly. Even today, when I think about it, I cry, why me?”
ย
“The washrooms are filthy. You sleep on the floor. The food is terrible. You don’t feel like eating anything.”
ย
She also recalled the stigma she felt after news of her arrest became public.
ย
Virk was accused in a case linked to an investment scam in which a complainant was allegedly promised a lead role in a film and persuaded to invest the money.ย

The Enforcement Directorate claimed that the funds amounting to approximately Rs 6 crore were routed through Virkโs accounts and were connected to property purchases and a purported e-commerce platform.
