Even a colonoscopy prep couldn’t keep Dax Shepard from supporting his wife Kristen Bell during her big night.

ย

As she took the stage to host the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1, her husband of 12 yearsโ€”along with their daughters Lincoln (11) and Delta (9)โ€”was backstage, proving that family support comes before everything else.

ย

This was the third time that Kristen returned as the host for the award show, after previously leading the charge in 2024 and 2025.

ย

“In case you were wondering what I was doing when I wasnโ€™t on stage last night,” Kristen wrote on Instagram March 2 alongside BTS pics. “Not for one moment do think I could do this job on my own.”

ย

“Thank you @daxshepard for being so continuously supportive and present,” she added. “You have never not been there to help calm my nervous system when itโ€™s crunch time. Our family unit gives me the fuel to be creative and perform and entertain, which I so love to do. I am thankful for the space I can take up, and will always make the same room for all three of you when you need it.”

Earlier on the awards night, the actor-comedian shared on Instagram Stories that he was prepping for a colonoscopy leading fans to believe that he might be absent from the ceremony. And although he skipped the red carpet, he was present backstage cheering Kristen on.

ย

The 45-year-old actress earlier revealed that has been trying hard to make sure that she breaks the habit of referring to the ceremonyโ€”which serves as an opportunity for the Screen Actors Guild to celebrate the best in film and televisionโ€”by its old name.

ย

“Renaming it is a big thing to apply to the old processor,” Bell said in an interview last month. “There’s been a lot of slip-ups. But we politely correct each other when I say the SAG Awards. Nope, it’s now called the Actor Awards.”
