Even a colonoscopy prep couldn’t keep Dax Shepard from supporting his wife Kristen Bell during her big night.

As she took the stage to host the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1, her husband of 12 yearsโalong with their daughters Lincoln (11) and Delta (9)โwas backstage, proving that family support comes before everything else.

This was the third time that Kristen returned as the host for the award show, after previously leading the charge in 2024 and 2025.

“In case you were wondering what I was doing when I wasnโt on stage last night,” Kristen wrote on Instagram March 2 alongside BTS pics. “Not for one moment do think I could do this job on my own.”

“Thank you @daxshepard for being so continuously supportive and present,” she added. “You have never not been there to help calm my nervous system when itโs crunch time. Our family unit gives me the fuel to be creative and perform and entertain, which I so love to do. I am thankful for the space I can take up, and will always make the same room for all three of you when you need it.”

Earlier on the awards night, the actor-comedian shared on Instagram Stories that he was prepping for a colonoscopy leading fans to believe that he might be absent from the ceremony. And although he skipped the red carpet, he was present backstage cheering Kristen on.

The 45-year-old actress earlier revealed that has been trying hard to make sure that she breaks the habit of referring to the ceremonyโwhich serves as an opportunity for the Screen Actors Guild to celebrate the best in film and televisionโby its old name.

“Renaming it is a big thing to apply to the old processor,” Bell said in an interview last month. “There’s been a lot of slip-ups. But we politely correct each other when I say the SAG Awards. Nope, it’s now called the Actor Awards.”
