Kim Kardashian shares puppies’ photos weeks after PETA backlash

Weeks after facing massive backlash for gifting each of her four children their own puppy for Christmas, Kim Kardashian remains unfazed!

The reality TV star recently shared with her fans and followers a peek at her family’s dogs.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Kim wrote: “Welcome to the fam,” as she posted the photos of her four Pomeranian puppies.

Kim originally shared a series of videos and photos on her Instagram Stories on Christmas, revealing that her family had grown to include four small Pomeranian puppies: two with dark fur, one with a cream coat and one with sable fur.

On a photo of all four dogs together, she wrote, “Each kid got a puppy.”

Kim shares kids North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with her ex-husband Kanye West.

In January, the Skims founder posted clips on her Instagram Stories of her kids playing with their new puppies at home. In one video, Kim held up a puppy to the camera as one of her kids said in the background, “Mommy, look, it licks me!”

In another clip, Chicago could be seen kissing and hugging the same dog in the family’s living room. Psalm could also be seen shuffling around on his hands and knees along with Chicago as the siblings chased a puppy around the room.

After revealing the Christmas surprise, Kim faced massive criticism from animal rights activists, including PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk, who slammed the star for giving pets as gifts to her children.

“Puppies are not plushies, and it’s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that,” Newkirk said in a statement.

Newkirk suggested that Kim and her sister Khloé Kardashian—who also gifted a dog to her children for Christmas—”call PETA or a local shelter the next time” they want to add another dog to their family.

“[They can] try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis,” the PETA founder added.

The Kardashian-Jenner family has a menagerie of pets, ranging from Pomeranians to reptiles and horses. While the youngest sibling Kylie Jenner owns a large pack of dogs, Kendall has a horse named Arizona.

Kim’s household is equally eclectic, featuring a bearded dragon named Speed and a fleet of Pomeranians, including her well-known pet, Sushi.
