Arjun Rampal celebrates success of ‘Dhurandhar 2’

Following the record-breaking success of โ€˜Dhurandhar: The Revengeโ€™, Arjun Rampal took to Instagram on Monday to share a heartfelt tribute to the fans and colleagues. Posting a series of nostalgic throwback photos alongside behind-the-scenes glimpses from the set, the actor reflected on a career that has taken him from childhood games of cowboys to his debut and now to the massive global platform of the Dhurandhar franchise.

The latest instalment, which arrived in cinemas on March 19, has proven to be a juggernaut at the box office. The sequel has already amassed over โ‚น1,300 crore globally, surpassing the original 2025 film, which itself crossed the โ‚น1,000 crore mark. In his post, Rampal described himself as “over the moon,” attributing the film’s success to patience and passion. He saved particular praise for his “pillar,” director Aditya Dhar, and his “Babbar Sher” co-star Ranveer Singh, while also highlighting the “phenomenal” musical score by Shashwat Sachdev and the international action team.

In the films, Rampal reprises his role as Major Iqbal, part of an ensemble cast that includes R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The story of Dhurandhar is set in a gritty landscape of Lyari in Karachi, which is synonymous with gang wars, and spins a complex yarn of covert intelligence activities in the backdrop of real-world events such as the Parliament attack in 2001 and the 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes.

While the initial instalment took viewers into a world of espionage, the second instalment delves deeper into the back story of Singhโ€™s character, Hamza Ali Mazari. It is a film about his transformation from Jaskirat Singh Rangi to a seasoned spy in the underworld of Karachi. The pan-India blockbuster, directed by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, was released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, solidifying its place as one of the most successful cinematic franchises in the history of India.
