Hours after Iran’s biggest bridge was struck, US President Donald Trump on Friday issued a fresh warning to the new Iranian regime, saying the American forces have yet to begin “destroying what’s left in Iran.” He said more of the country’s bridges and energy infrastructure were in his sights.
Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants: Trump
In a post on Truth Social, the US President said, “Our Military, the greatest and most powerful (by far!) anywhere in the World, hasn’t even started destroying what’s left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants!”
Trump has repeatedly stated that the vast majority of major military targets in Iran have already been damaged or destroyed over the past month of war. “Iran’s New Regime leadership knows what has to be done, and has to be done, FAST!” Trump said, seemingly referring to his call for Tehran to strike a deal with Washington that will bring about a ceasefire.
8 killed, 95 injured as US-Israeli strikes hit Iran’s B1 Bridge
This came just hours after Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, urging it to “make a deal before it is too late,” while sharing a video of the collapse of the B1 bridge near Tehran. The bridge, considered one of the tallest and most significant infrastructure projects in West Asia, was seen breaking apart after being hit by the strikes, marking a major escalation in the ongoing conflict.ย
At least eight civilians have been reported killed, and 95 others sustained injuries following US-Israeli strikes, Iranian state media Press TV reported. The military action specifically targeted the “B1 bridge in Karaj,” resulting in a high number of casualties in the surrounding area.
The victims of the strike reportedly include “Iranian travellers” and “residents of the local village” who were near the infrastructure at the time of the attack. According to Press TV, the toll also included “families who were in the area for Nature Day,” a time when many people were outdoors.
The US President also shared the video on Truth Social showing an explosion and warned that “the biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again,” adding that Tehran must “make a deal before it is too late and there is nothing left of what still could become a great country.”
