Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson is turning producer for Netflixโs new series adaptation of “The Nanny Diaries”.

The actor, who starred in the 2007 film adaptation of the same book by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, will executive produce the upcoming series under her These Pictures banner alongside Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn.

The streaming giant’s television reimagining of the best-selling book will be written and steered by co-showrunners Amy Chozick and Jenny Bicks.

The plot follows Annie Braddock, a working-class student who accepts a nanny position for Mr and Mrs X, a wealthy but deeply troubled couple living in Manhattan.

The film adaptation was directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. It featured Johansson in the role of Braddock alongside Laura Linney, and Chris Evans.

The first book released in 2002, followed by a sequel in 2009, which was titled “Nanny Returns”.
