Cara Delevingne is setting the record straight on her rumoured romance with Amber Heard.
Addressing past accusations by Johnny Depp that the supermodel had an affair with his then-wife Heard during their marriage, Delevingne said the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star completely misinterpreted their strong, close bond.
“I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy,” Delevingne told Louis Theroux during the latest episode of the Louis Theroux Podcast, adding that “nothing was happening at that point.”
She stated that Depp’s jealousy was sparked in 2013 during the filming of “London Fields”, a project that brought Delevingne and Heard together. Depp himself made a cameo appearance in the film.

The timeline overlaps with the early days of Depp and Heard’s romance, which began in 2011. The couple tied the knot in 2014. The high-profile marriage lasted just 15 months before the pair separated in 2015, officially finalising their bitter divorce in 2016.
Delevingne confirmed that after the divorce, she and Heard started dating. “Later, after they divorced, it had [happened], I suppose,” Delevingne said, elaborating that “[Heard and I] were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, we were entangled.”
Delevingne also pointed out that she was not the only person Heard romanced after separation. Among Heard’s other post-divorce partners was tech billionaire Elon Musk, whom the “Aquaman” actress dated on and off between 2016 and 2018.
“She (Heard) was also entangled with other people,” the “Paper Towns” actress clarified.

Delevingne, who came out as pansexual in 2020 and now identifies as a lesbian, expressed that she is incredibly proud to live authentically and openly date women.
“I look back on it; it was super evident really young. I knew at 11 years old,” Delevingne said. “I think when I started talking about it and being open about it, I felt like there was a lot to fight for still at that point in terms of shows about gay people and people to look up to for younger kids.”
While the Victoria’s Secret Angel has featured in multiple films, including Jordan Firstman’s “Club Kid”, she revealed feeling anxious to hide her sexuality in order to get work back in those days.
Delevingne said she “really believed” and “took to heart” when former filmmaker Harvey Weinstein told her, “You should never be in a relationship with a woman. You’ll never make it in the industry if people think you’re gay.”
