The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday signalled an early push for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with party president Nitin Nabin asserting that the BJP and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners would contest the polls together while aiming to replicate the alliance’s sweeping 2017 victory.
ย
Addressing reporters after meeting leaders of NDA allies in Lucknow, Nabin expressed confidence that the alliance would retain power in the state with a “thumping majority”, stressing that the BJP would continue to strengthen coordination among its allies.
ย
“The Bharatiya Janata Party is capable of fighting elections. We will ensure that all NDA constituents continue to work together to make Uttar Pradesh an ‘Uttam Pradesh’,” Nabin said.
ย
He added, “Our leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, have worked for the people with a spirit of service. We are fully confident that in the 2027 Assembly elections, the NDA alliance will form the government with a thumping majority.”
ย
The meeting with alliance partners followed Nabin’s interaction with former Uttar Pradesh BJP presidents, where preparations for the 2027 Assembly polls were reviewed.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said the discussions focused on ensuring close coordination between the government and the organisation to “repeat the 2017 performance” and secure an even larger mandate in the next election.
ย
“We discussed that the government and the organisation will work together to repeat the 2017 performance and secure an even bigger victory in 2027. All our NDA allies will remain united,” Maurya said.
ย
He also attacked the opposition Samajwadi Party, alleging that the people of Uttar Pradesh preferred development, good governance and security over “goonda raj, mafia raj, dynastic politics or riots”. He claimed that if the party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, returned to power, “land grabbing would be back”.
ย
Former Uttar Pradesh BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary dismissed concerns over the BJP’s reduced tally in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the state, pointing to the party’s subsequent success in Assembly bypolls.
ย
Among the NDA allies, leaders of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, NISHAD Party and Apna Dal (Sonelal) said the alliance’s immediate priority was to strengthen coordination among partners. They indicated that seat-sharing would be discussed at a later stage while expressing confidence that the NDA would return to power in 2027.
