The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday left the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) unanimously decided to maintain the policy interest rate at its current level, adopting a neutral stance.ย In June, the Reserve Bank had kept its key policy rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent. However, it raised the retail inflation estimate for 2026-27 to 5.1 per cent from 4.6 per cent earlier.ย
