Brazil announces star-packed squad with Vinicius Jr, Raphinha & Marquinhos for India and Australia tour

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced a 26-man squad for its upcoming friendly encounters against Australia and India on Wednesday.

The Selecao boasts a star‑studded line‑up featuring Endrick, Raphinha, Vinícius Júnior, and Marquinhos, who will play two friendlies against Australia before a historic clash with India in Kolkata — the Mecca of Indian football.

Brazil to face Australia in two friendlies

Brazil will face Australia at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on September 25. Both sides will then lock horns on September 29 at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti announced this during a press conference at the Brazilian Football Confederation in Rio.

“Coach Carlo Ancelotti called up a total of 26 players on Wednesday (9) for Brazil’s first matches after the World Cup. Ten of them play in Brazilian football. He released the list at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation, in Rio, from where he then gave a press conference,” the statement read.

Five-time World champions Brazil had made it to the Round of 16 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but their trophyless run since 2002 continued after they lost to Norway in the pre-quarters. It would be the first time that the Selecao would be in action since the 2026 WC, which took place in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Following the Australia leg, the Brazilian national team will play its first-ever match against India on October 3 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharat Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium) in Kolkata.
