India and Pakistan are set for another blockbuster chapter in their cricket rivalry as they clash in the men’s cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
India will lock horns with arch-rival Pakistan in the men’s cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games, the continental showpiece taking place in Aichi-Nagoya, on Saturday. The two rivals will go head-to-head in a high-stakes showdown, with the coveted gold medal hanging in the balance.
India are the defending champions and have been undefeated in their Asian Games campaign so far. Their quarter-final fixture against Afghanistan was washed out due to rain, and India advanced further due to its higher ranking. The Men in Blue went on to seal a dominant 124-run victory over Sri Lanka to march into the final.
India, Pakistan set for high-octane clash
Led by Shreyas Iyer, India scored 169 runs after being put to bat first in Nisshin. Ishan Kishan played anchor, smashing an unbeaten 80 while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered a crucial 38.
The Indian bowling attack then worked its magic, bowling out Sri Lanka for just 45 runs, their lowest-ever T20 total. Bumrah starred with a two-wicket haul, supported by Abhishek Sharma, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar, who struck at crucial moments to tear through the opposition batting line-up.
More from FirstcricketMeanwhile, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in the semifinal to secure a spot in the final.
In terms of head-to-head numbers, India hold a grander edge over Pakistan, having won 14 and lost just three games in T20 cricket.
