Led by Shreyas Iyer, the Men in Blue held their nerve in a closely contested encounter, producing a disciplined all-round performance to retain the title they won in Hangzhou in 2023.
The Indian men’s national cricket team successfully won gold in the Asian Games cricket final on Saturday after defeating Pakistan by 19 runs in a neck-and-neck clash at the Korogi Sports Park. The Shreyas Iyer-led side defended the gold medal the team had won at the 2023 Games in Hangzhou.
Bowling the final over, Shivam Dube brought down Hasan Nawaz on the last ball of the innings, denying him a century.
