Television actor Anuj Thakur, known for his work in shows including Dhoom Machao Dhoom, Bandhan Saath Janmon Ka, Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadhunga and Mahisagar, died on October 27 at the age of 33.
His friend and longtime collaborator Rupesh Sonar said Thakur’s family informed him that the actor had suffered a seizure while asleep. Sonar announced the death through an Instagram tribute on October 30.
“Still can’t believe that you are no longer with us. You were not just a friend but like a little brother to me. We had so many projects planned together, and I still remember witnessing your struggles during your initial days and seeing your journey,” Sonar wrote.
In a further tribute, Sonar described Thakur’s death as difficult to accept and said the actor would always be remembered as a brother.
Sonar said he had met Thakur about 10 days before his death. He was later shocked to learn that the actor had gone to sleep and did not wake up. After initially speaking to Thakur’s brother, Sonar visited his mother and brother on Saturday.
Sonar said he was told during the visit that Thakur had suffered a seizure and died during the episode.
According to Sonar, Thakur maintained a disciplined daily routine, waking at 4.30 am before exercising and jogging. On the morning of his death, when the actor did not get up after his alarm rang, his mother went to his room and found that he had died.
