It is worth noting that before the World Cup, Abhishek Sharma had a huge lead over his peers in the rankings. However, after the tournament and Abhishekโs shaky campaign, the star batter has managed to retain his spot but is within touching distance of the number two spot.ย
Ishan Kishan had occupied the fourth spot before the rankings update, and with his stellar performances in recent matches, Kishan has clinched the number two spot with 871 rating points to his name, whereas Abhishek has 875.
Furthermore, Sahibzada Farhan slipped down to third and has 848 rating points. Additionally, Englandโs Phil Salt and Sri Lankaโs Pathum Nissanka sit in fourth and fifth place, respectively.ย
The bowler rankings had a shake up with the update as well
The T20I bowler rankings had some changes made to it as well. Despite picking several wickets for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2026, due to not being economical, star spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has lost his number 1 spot in the T20I bowler rankings.ย
Moving down one spot, Chakaravarthy now sits in second with 740 rating points to his name. Star Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has moved into first place and has 753 rating points to his name.ย
For his brilliance in the tournament, Jasprit Bumrah moved up one spot and now sits in 6th with 702 rating points. As for third place, Pakistanโs Abrar Ahmed holds the spot with Adil Rashid and Corbin Bosch sitting in fourth and fifth, respectively.ย
