Washington: The United States Secret Service on Sunday (local time) said it is investigating reports of overnight gunfire near Lafayette Park, located across the street from the White House. According to the agency, no injuries were reported, and no suspects were found following a search of the park and surrounding areas after midnight. Tehran: The US forces on Sunday were able to rescue the second crew member of the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet that crashed in southwest Iran on Friday, but according to Tehran, the operation cost the American military several aircraft, including two Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. The rescue operation also resulted in the death of five people, but the Iranians didn't reveal whether they were civilians or military personnel.
