Tehran: Iran may be close to naming its next supreme leader, according to comments made by a senior cleric on Wednesday. Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, who is a member of the Assembly of Experts, said the process of selecting the country’s next leader has reached an advanced stage. New Delhi: Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a direct message to neighbouring Arab countries, saying Iran respects their sovereignty but was forced to respond after attacks by the United States and Israel.
