Dhaka: Tarique Rahman's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is sailing to a huge victory in Bangladesh, BNP has won over 200 seats and is set to form government with Tarique Rahman is set to be the next prime minister.  BNP's Hindu candidate Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has won from Dhaka-3 by defeating Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Shahinur Islam. BNP's Hindu candidate Gayeshwar Chandra Roy obtained 98,785 votes, while Jamaat candidate Md Shahinur Islam garnered 82,232 votes. Islamabad: Pakistan on Friday unveiled its new hypersonic anti‑ship missile, designated SMASH, at the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The missile was showcased by Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS) and is being presented as a dual‑role hypersonic weapon capable of conducting both maritime and land attack missions. SMASH is a ship‑launched anti‑ship ballistic missile (ASBM) under Pakistan’s P‑282 designation, with has a range of approximately 350 km.

As per the latest trends, BNP has won 166 seats, Jamaat and allies bagged 52 seats. Islami Andolon Bangladesh has won one seat, others- 6 seats. The election mainly saw a contest between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its former ally, Jamaat-e-Islami.
