Indian equity benchmark indices, the Sensex and Nifty, opened in the red on Wednesday as oil prices edged higher after fresh attacks in the US-Iran conflict. While the 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 69.38 points or 0.09 per cent to start the session at 76,446.05, the Nifty opened with a drop of 14.55 points to 23,883.15.
