Gold gains on MCX, silver jumps 1.5% amid weakness in US dollar | Check city-wise rates
Mumbai: Rates of precious metals in futures inched higher on Thursday, April 16, 2026, as the US dollar weakened. The gold June 5 contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) opened with a gain of Rs 703 at Rs 1,54,651 per 10 grams against the previous close of Rs 1,53,948. It later touched an intraday high of Rs 1,54,990, a jump of Rs 1,042 or 0.67 per cent. Last seen, it was trading at Rs 1,54,756 with a gain of Rs 808 or 0.52 per cent.
