Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has hailed the BJP-Mahayuti allianceโ€™s dominant performance in the stateโ€™s Zilla Parishad elections, declaring that the results confirm the party has expanded its influence well beyond its traditional urban strongholds. Reflecting on the outcome, Fadnavis noted that since shattering the perception of the Bharatiya Janata Party as exclusively urban in 2014, the alliance has continued to build on its success.

ย

He attributed this historic win to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari and the relentless efforts of state president Ravindra Chavan along with cabinet colleagues, MPs, MLAs, and grassroots workers.

ย

Fadnavis, taking to social media, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for once again placing their trust in the Mahayuti. He assured the voters that the elected members would work tirelessly to honour that mandate.

ย

Similarly, Prime Minister Modi weighed in on the results and said the victory in the Zilla Parishad elections-after good showings in municipal and council polls-demonstrates widespread support, both in rural and urban areas, for good governance and the state’s cultural heritage. If official data from the State Election Commission is anything to go by, then the BJP-led alliance secured an overwhelming 552 out of 731 seats, cementing their hold on local governance across the state.
