The ongoing legal battle between Hollywoodโs former power couple took an ugly turn when Brad Pitt sued his ex-wife Angelina Jolie for $35 million in damages over the sale of the latterโs stake in a winery they co-owned.
ย
According to reports, Pitt’s legal team has submitted new documents in court, including evidence communications to and from Jolie’s team regarding the 2021 sale of her stake in Chรขteau Miraval.
ย
Pitt had first filed a lawsuit in 2022, claiming that his ex-wife sold her share of the winery despite a prior agreement that neither would do so unless the other person approved.
ย
The documents from the filing on October 29 included an email from Angelina’s legal team: “The burdensome nature of any production is a matter of Mr. Pitt’s own creationโhe is suing Ms. Jolie for $35 million in damages.”
ย
The emails also included Brad’s “continuing refusals to produce documents.”

The โF1 starโ, 61, previously filed a claim shutting down his ex-wife’s request for $33,000 to pay for legal fees and damages accruing from his team’s request for her email exchanges, including with her lawyers, business advisors, and even “image consultants.” The Oscar-winning actress has, for the most part, cited attorney-client privilege in denying access to the communications.
ย
The case’s next hearing has been scheduled for December 17.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who share six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox – parted ways in 2016 after 12 years together and two years of marriage. The Oscar-winning actors finalised their divorce in December 2024.
