Coal India share price: The PSU said that it has permitted coal consumers located in the neighbouring countries who wish to import coal from India, to directly participate in the Single Window Mode Agnostic (SWMA) auctions conducted by the company.
Shares of Coal India Limited (CIL) are in action today, i.e. on December 2, 2025, as the public sector undertaking (PSU) has permitted the direct participation of foreign coal buyers in e-auction. In a regulatory filing, the company stated that it has permitted coal consumers in neighbouring countries to participate directly in the Single Window Mode Agnostic (SWMA) auctions conducted by the company. According to a senior official of the company, the move will enhance transparency, competition and global market integration. The official also said that it reflects CILโs calibrated approach to market expansion while fully safeguarding domestic coal requirements.ย

The stock opened in the green at Rs 401.60 on the BSE, up from the previous close of Rs 400.35. The stock rose further to hit a high of Rs 426.95, up 6.64 per cent from the previous close. The stock has been in action of late and has gained 7.1 per cent in the last three days.ย
Last seen, the stock was trading at Rs 426.75 with a gain of 6.59 per cent, and the market cap of the company stood at Rs 2,62,994.43 crore. Technically, the stock trades higher than the 5-day, 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages.ย
Coal India output grows 4.6 per cent
The company has reported a 4.6 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in production and a 5.2 per cent fall in offtake in December. The miner, along with its eight subsidiaries, produced 75.7 million tonnes (MT) of coal in December 2025, higher than 72.4 MT in the same month in 2024.
