Demi Lovato is back as Mitchie Torres in ‘Camp Rock 3’

Demi Lovato is officially back as Mitchie Torres in the upcoming Disney Channel Original movie ‘Camp Rock 3’.

Lovato originally headlined ‘Camp Rock’ (2008) and ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’ (2010) alongside the Jonas Brothers—Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas.

In the film, her character, Mitchie, captivates rock star Shane Gray, played by Joe Jonas, with her powerhouse voice during the prestigious summer music camp. The franchise launched a series of hit duets between Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, including the iconic tracks ‘This Is Me’ and ‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing’.

‘Camp Rock 3’ introduces a new generation of campers competing for the ultimate prize: opening for Connect 3—the fake band played on tour by Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas. The movie’s soundtrack highlights an energetic new song from the brothers called ‘Come On Over’, alongside the lead track ‘One Beat Away’, featuring rising star Liamani Segura and the ensemble cast.

When the Jonas Brothers announced ‘Camp Rock 3’ last year, they revealed Lovato as an executive producer, leaving her on-screen return unconfirmed. Both Lovato and director Veronica Rodriguez consistently dodged questions about a potential cameo from the pop star prior to the release.

“You can’t really talk about ‘Camp Rock’ or have a ‘Camp Rock’ movie without referencing her. We love Mitchie,” Rodriguez said in December 2025. “What I will say is that people should be excited to see some OG characters. You should feel all of those nostalgic vibes.”

“We tried to put in as many things as we can into this movie, some iconic set pieces, the Jonas Brothers as Connect 3, and even Connie [Maria Canals-Barrera], Mitchie’s mom, has a bigger role in this movie,” she said. “So Mitchie is very much a character in this movie, in this world, and we should feel her, for sure, because she’s iconic and beloved and is a part of the ‘Camp Rock’ legacy.”

‘Camp Rock 3’ premieres on Disney Channel on Thursday at 8 pm ET, and is available to stream on Disney+ the following day.
