The Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings clash on Monday in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season made a lot of fans emotional. While Ravindra Jadeja was playing for the Royals, Sanju Samson turned up for CSK as the two players were traded by their respective franchises ahead of the auction. It felt weird for many to see, especially Jadeja, not wear the yellow jersey, and the cricketer was also seen kissing the CSK logo after the match.
However, a video has gone viral now claiming that Jadeja was also teary-eyed at one stage during the match against CSK, which has left the fans guessing if he really cried. Most of the videos have been removed by the host broadcaster, but a short video is still going viral on X that shows Jadeja getting emotional. However, it cannot be confirmed if he really cried during the match.
In the video, it could be seen that Jadeja is closing his eyes, with many stating that he got teary-eyed while fielding at the boundary line.
Here’s the video:
How did Ravindra Jadeja perform in match vs CSK?
It was a one-sided encounter as the Royals won the game comfortably, chasing the 128-run target to start their IPL 2026 campaign on a high. Ravindra Jadeja didn’t get to bat, but he shone with the ball, picking up two wickets. He dismissed Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube while conceding only 18 runs in three overs. Jadeja’s gun celebration after dismissing Dube also went viral.ย
Reacting to playing for the Royals after a long time, Jadeja, while speaking to the broadcaster,ย said, ”ย I think pink looks good on me, I guess (on returning to Rajasthan Royals colours). Iโve known Shivam Dube for a long time – Iโve bowled to him in the nets, so I understand how he approaches spinners. I was prepared for that and tried to bowl outside off, because I knew he would look to play big shots against me (on dismissing his former teammate after being hit for a six).
“I felt the wicket was a bit sticky and the ball was turning, so I really enjoyed bowling – my job was just to hit the right areas and let the pitch do the rest (on his spell of 2/18). You canโt take anything for granted in cricket; no matter the target, you have to work hard, play your shots, and give your 100%.”
