Forgetting where you left your keys, struggling to recall a name or walking into a room and forgetting why you went there can happen to anyone. But while no food can magically โboostโ memory overnight, research increasingly suggests that overall eating patterns can influence brain health and cognitive function. The National Institute on Aging says diets rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, fish and unsaturated fats are associated with better cognitive health, although researchers caution that the evidence is not strong enough to claim that any individual food can prevent memory loss or dementia. That means instead of looking for a single โmemory foodโ, it may make more sense to combine nutrient-rich foods regularly.
