‘Fraud Czar’: Donald Trump coins new term for JP Vance. What does it mean?

Washington:

As the United States (US) prepares for the midterm elections, President Donald Trump has coined a new term for his deputy JP Vance, and called the vice president a ‘fraud Czar’.ย

In a post on his Truth Social account on Friday, the 79-year-old Republican leader said Vance’s focus will be “everywhere”, but primarily in ‘blue states’ where he noted that the Democrats have had a “free for all in the unprecedented theft of Taxpayer Money”.

“Vice President JD Vance is now in charge of โ€œFRAUDโ€ in the United States,” Trump said. “It is massive and pervasive, and the job he will be doing, in conjunction with many great people within the Trump Administration, will be a major factor in how great the future of our Country will be.”

“The numbers are so large that, if successful, we would literally be able to balance our American Budget. Raids have already started in L.A. Good Luck JD!” he added.

Why Trump called Vance ‘fraud Czar’?

Trump’s new term for Vance comes around a month after the vice president was named as the lead of a national task force that will prove the Republican leader’s claims that federal funds dedicated for social welfare schemes are being misused and ‘stolen’ in some states led by the Democrats.

The task force will advise Trump and his administration on how to combat with the misuse of the funds. In addition to Vance, it will also include the chairperson of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the assistant to the president for homeland security, as per the White House.

The task force will also coordinate with the Homeland Security Council on any matters related to law enforcement, public safety, national security, transnational crime, and organized criminal activity, the White House stated.

The task force has also started its operations, with the FBI arresting eight persons in California on Thursday for allegedly defrauding the national healthcare system for more than USD 50 million by running “sham hospice care facilities”. The FBI stated that the arrested persons were Gladwin and Amelou Gill, who were involved in a business.

“The Southern California region is a high-risk environment for hospice-related and many other forms of healthcare fraud,” said Akil Davis, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s LA Field Office. “The United States loses hundreds of billions of dollars annually to healthcare fraud at the expense of all American taxpayers, whose benefits decrease as premiums, co-payments and taxes grow.”ย
