Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife, Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, arrived at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Ranchi on Thursday to join a crucial strategy meeting of ruling alliance MLAs ahead of the Winter Session of the Jharkhand Assembly. Their participation โ alongside several senior leaders โ effectively silenced speculation of discord within the coalition.
ย
For the past few days, unverified reports had circulated claiming that the Sorens were in Delhi for nearly a week and had allegedly met senior BJP leaders.
ย
These rumours suggested dissatisfaction within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) over the performance of its allies โ particularly the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) โ in recent Bihar elections, fuelling talk of a potential political realignment.
ย
The joint appearance of key leaders on Thursday, however, projected a clear message of solidarity. All four ministers representing the Congress quota, along with Jharkhand in-charge K. Raju and state Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, attended the meeting, signalling that the alliance remains intact and united.

The concerns had gained traction following JMMโs decision to pull out of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, citing what it termed a โpolitical conspiracyโ by its allies in Bihar.
ย
The party had said it would reassess the alliance equation in Jharkhand after the Bihar polls, prompting questions about the stability of the ruling coalition.
ย
However, Thursdayโs unified show has put much of that speculation to rest. With all partners under one roof and senior leaders reaffirming their commitment, sources indicate that no immediate upheaval is on the horizon. The coalition, they say, is currently focused on governance priorities and preparations for the upcoming Assembly session.
