The domestic stock market closed in the red again today. IT stocks witnessed a massive fall on Wednesday. Amid this fall, the shares of all the major IT companies, including TCS, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, and Infosys, collapsed. The BSE Sensex closed at 74,346.17 points with a loss of 303.67 points (0.41 per cent). Whereas, NSE’s Nifty 50 index also closed at 23,405.60 points today, falling by 77.95 points (0.33 per cent). It’s worth noting that the market had closed higher on Tuesday. Yesterday, the Sensex gained 382.50 points (0.52 per cent) to close at 74,649.84, and the Nifty gained 100.95 points (0.43 per cent) to close at 23,483.55.
TCS shares fell 8.43 per cent
On Wednesday, out of the 30 Sensex companies, only 11 shares closed in the green, while the remaining 19 closed in the red. On the other hand, out of the 50 companies in the Nifty 50, only 19 shares closed in green with gains; the remaining 30 closed in red with losses, and Grasim Industries closed without any change. Among the Sensex companies, Indigo shares closed with the highest gain of 1.57 per cent today. Whereas, TCS shares closed with the highest loss of 8.43 per cent.

Among 30 Sensex firms, Tata Consultancy Services tumbled 8.43 per cent, followed by Tech Mahindra (6.23 per cent), HCL Tech (5.25 per cent) and Infosys (3.82 per cent). ITC, Eternal, Larsen & Toubro and Bajaj Finance were also among the laggards. InterGlobe Aviation, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Trent were among the gainers from the blue-chip pack.ย ย

On the other hand, on Wednesday, shares of Tech Mahindra closed down by 6.23 per cent, HCL Tech by 5.25 per cent, Infosys by 3.82 per cent, ITC by 2.21 per cent, Eternal by 1.48 per cent, L&T by 1.19 per cent, Bajaj Finance by 0.61 per cent, Adani Ports by 0.55 per cent, Asian Paints by 0.38 per cent, Bajaj Finserv by 0.37 per cent, Titan by 0.36 per cent, BEL by 0.31 per cent, Reliance Industries by 0.31 per cent, UltraTech Cement by 0.24 per cent, NTPC by 0.23 per cent, Hindustan Unilever by 0.17 per cent, Maruti Suzuki by 0.04 per cent and Sun Pharma by 0.03 per cent.
