Global superstars have to deal with stage crashers all the time. But Jennifer Lopez had an encounter of a different kind at a show during her “Lopez’s Up All Night: Live in 2025” tour when a large cricket landed on her neck mid-performance.

Speaking during a guest appearance on the “SmartLess” podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Lopez revealed that she was completely locked into performing a Spanish song in Almaty, Kazakhstan, when a massive cricket decided to fly up and land smack on her neck, mid-verse.

“It was like the slow moment in the show, you know,” the 56-year-old singer-actress said.

“Usually, I’m dancing around and doing the choreography and like a f—–g bikini and a g-string and whipping my hair around and it’s a good time.”

Lopez recalled how it was “really quiet” with “just a spotlight” on her and that she had been noticing “little bugs” throughout the evening.

“And so everything is dark except for me and I’m singing. And as I’m singing, the audience starts screaming. And usually they do react in this moment because I stop and it’s a slow song,” the “Office Romance” star added.

“I was like, ‘what’s happening?'” she said. “And I’m just there and this huge bug is just crawling up my neck and I feel it.”

Lopez recalled managing to “stay really still” to finish out the song’s final line before dealing with the massive insect. She joked that the cricket was so huge, it looked like a helicopter when it finally flew towards the light.

“But that was crazy, it was kind of horrible,” Lopez added. “Like if I would have known it was that, I probably [would have been] screaming and yelling. It was tickling me,” she said.

On the work front, Lopez was recently seen in “Office Romance”, a romantic comedy, also starring Brett Goldstein. The film, which follows two workaholics involved in a secret workplace relationship, premiered on Netflix on June 6.
