Fans of the long-running Virani saga can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as Star Plus and the show’s producers have moved to quash persistent rumours that the rebooted โKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thiโ is facing the axe. Speculation had reached fever pitch following the launch of its spin-off, Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badalte Hain, with many industry insiders suggesting that the newer series was poised to take over the flagship’s prime-time slot.

However, an official statement released on March 26 has firmly put those claims to bed. The broadcaster clarified that any reports suggesting the cancellation of Season 2 are entirely “unfounded,” confirming that there is currently no scheduled end date for the drama. The announcement, which quickly went viral on social media, reiterated that the show will continue in its 10:30 pm slot each night, with digital streaming available on JioHotstar.

The reboot, which first aired in July of 2025, has been a big nostalgic success, in large part due to the return of original stars Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay as Tulsi and Mihir Virani. They were joined by returning favourites Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, while a new generation of actors โ including Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi and Shagun Sharma โ stepped in to play the younger Virani heirs, Angad, Hrithik and Pari.

Of course, the television landscape has changed considerably since the original show first became the dominant force on the small screen in the early 2000s, but with this latest confirmation of the show’s continuation, it would appear that the Virani family still has a significant amount of power over the ratings. For now, at least, the โSaas-Bahuโ style is still a staple of the Star Plus programming and can be expected to continue in the same vein without any interruptions.
