Indian-born Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen, celebrated for her iconic role as Kali Prasad/008 in the Netflix’s smash hit “Stranger Things”, is set to make her highly anticipated UK stage debut.
The actress will take centre stage in “Darkling”, a gripping solo production arriving at London’s prestigious Bush Theatre.
Presented by the Actors Touring Company in a high-profile co-production with the Bush Theatre, the play is billed as “an epic story of a life ravaged by ecological disaster.”
The highly anticipated script is written by acclaimed playwright Titas Halder and helmed by the Actors Touring Company’s Olivier Award-winning artistic director, Matthew Xia.
“Darkling” lays bare the agonising human cost of the catastrophic 1984 Bhopal gas leak disaster. The production seamlessly intertwines fractured memories and profound trauma into a raw, visceral narrative. More than just a theatrical performance, the play stands as a blistering, uncompromising indictment of corporate malpractice and institutional negligence that devastated countless lives.

As per the description, “This human story confronts the systemic impact of industrialisation on poorer nations, raising urgent questions about environmental exploitation and the fight for justice in the global South.”

“Darkling” premiers at Bush Theatre on September 5 before it goes on to tour Birmingham, Oxford’s The North Wall Arts Centre, and HOME, Manchester, before culminating on November 14.
