While the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 67.62 points to start the session at 81,274.79, the Nifty gained 22.3 points to open at 24,916.55. In the last trading session, the Sensex closed at 81,207.17 and the Nifty 50 at 24,894.25.ย However, the broader indices traded in the opening session. While the BSE Midcap was up by 17.19 points, or 0.04 per cent, in the early trading session, the BSE Smallcap index gained 14.44 points, or 0.03 per cent, to trade at 52,235.23.ย
From the Sensex pack, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank and Eternal were among the major gainers, with Bajaj Finance leading the pack by gaining 2.72 per cent in the early trade today. On the other hand, Power Grid, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, NTPC and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the laggards, with Power Grid shedding 1.57 per cent in the opening trade.ย ย

What did Gift Nifty indicate?
Gift Nifty, an early indicator for the Nifty 50, indicated a flat start as it opened with a gain of 17 points at 24,987, compared to the previous close of 24,970.ย
Meanwhile, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) extended their selling streak for the fourth consecutive session on September 24, selling equities worth Rs 4,995 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought equities worth Rs 5,000ย crore on the same day.ย
