American singer-songwriter and actor Nick Jonas is set to star in an untitled Netflix rom-com to be directed by Ari Sandel.

The film, written by Tamara Chestna, follows the story of a perennial bachelor whose “no strings attached” lifestyle is upended when he unexpectedly inherits his cousinโs infant child. Just as finds his footing as a father, complications arise when the babyโs godmother shows up around the holidays to claim the custody of the infant. What ensues is a love story the duo never anticipated.

The filmโs production team includes Steve Barnett of Monarch Media, Mark Ross from Lincoln Road Films, and Chestna, alongside Spencer Berman and Nick Jonas for Powered by Jonas. Serving as executive producers for Monarch are Alan Powell and Vicky Patel.

Jonas has had a stellar year, with his musical dramedy โPower Balladโ premiering at SXSW. The film also stars Paul Rudd.

Jonas will also play the lead role in the upcoming holiday horror film โWhite Elephantโ opposite Kathryn Newton. Director Ari Sandel, known for โThe DUFFโ and โGoosebumps 2: Haunted Halloweenโ, is directing โWhite Elephantโ.

Later this year, Jonas will also be seen alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart in the latest โJumanjiโ film from Columbia Pictures.
