The Congress on Saturday announced a nationwide three-phase agitation titled "MGNREGA Bachao", after the Centre's newly enacted Viksit Bharat -- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB--G RAM G) Act. Taking a dig at the BJP government, Haryana’s Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the party had earlier lured the women by promising them to give Rs 2100 but now are imposing condition after condition.  BJP on Friday  slammed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani while accusing him of "interfering" in India's internal matter by writing a note for jailed activist Umar Khalid.
