Ha Lyngkha Bneng has just won Best Film and Best Director at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival.” He added, “To say this is a dream come true would still fall short of what I feel right now.”

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma congratulated Kurbah on this remarkable achievement, stating that the international recognition is a proud moment for the people of Meghalaya. The state government had supported Kurbah with ₹30 lakh funding for the film .
