Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty captured the men’s doubles crown at the 2026 China Masters Super 750, marking a historic triumph. Their comeback win over China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu capped a third attempt at the title.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty expressed optimism following their historic victory at the 2026 China Masters Super 750 event, where they won the men’s doubles crown on Sunday. Chirag said that winning a title right before the Asian Games gave them a massive boost of confidence.
Third time’s the charm for the Indian duo of Satwik-Chirag, who delivered a sensational comeback performance to defeat China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in the final to win the title.
Satwik and Chirag also pocketed a USD 1,250,000 prize money after the title slipped out of their hands twice in the past.
‘Winning a title gives a huge boost’
Following their victory at Shenzhen, Chirag revealed the duo will return home, undergo intensive training for the next ten days and then head to the 2026 Asian Games with proper energy and determination, while also looking to enjoy the experience.
“It feels really special. Obviously, going into the Asian Games, winning a title definitely gives a huge boost that yes, what we are working for is in the right direction.
“We will go back home, push ourselves to the limit, train for the next 10 days and go all guns blazing at the Asian Games. We want to go out there and have some fun,” Chirag said.

Chirag went on to reflect on dropping the opening set to the Chinese duo, noting that they initially played strokes that suited their opponents’ style and allowed them to dominate with speed and aggression before turning the momentum around.
But once the duo followed their coach’s advice to be mindfully aggressive, they managed to counter the opponents much more effectively.
“In the first game, it wasn’t lacking, but we were not playing the right strokes. We were playing a style which favoured them. And when we play a style which favours them, they come all guns blazing. You don’t really find any space to play against them because they are extremely fast and furious.
“So in the second game when we started, we wanted to be aggressive, but mindfully aggressive. And that’s what he (coach) was telling,” The shuttler added.
Satwik and Chirag’s next big assignment is the 2026 Asian Games at Aichi-Nagoya, where they will defend their men’s doubles title.
