Sri Lanka A has managed to snatch a victory from the grasp of India A. The two sides met in the 4th match of the ongoing tri-series, and after Sri Lanka matched India’s total of 266 runs in the second innings, the game went into the super over, where Sri Lanka set a target of 17 runs for the Indian team to chase, which the Men in Blue failed to chase down.
The clash began with India coming in to bat first. The side opened its innings with Prabhsimran Singh and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scoring 11 and 21 runs, respectively. Furthermore, Ruturaj Gaikwad added 37 runs to the board, with Tilak Varma adding 23 runs to his name.ย
It was the performance of Suryansh Shedge that stood out for India; the batter came out to bat in the middle order and scored 72 runs in 66 deliveries as India A posted a total of 265 runs in the first innings of the game.ย
Mohamed Shiraz and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth were the highest wicket-takers for Sri Lanka in the first innings with three wickets each to their names. Sahan Arachchige, Kugathas Mathulan, and Wanuja Sahan took one wicket each as well.ย

Sadeera Samarawickrama helped Sri Lanka take the game into the super over
Coming out to chase down the target, Niroshan Dickwella and Avishka Fernando opened the innings with scores of 37 and 22 runs, respectively. Vishen Halambage failed to make an impact on the game as he was dismissed on a score of 17 runs as well.ย
After the subpar start to the run chase, it was the performance of Sadeera Samarawickrama that stood out for the hosts. Coming out to bat, Sadeera put in a brilliant performance as he scored 93 runs to his name in 113 deliveries.ย
His performance was crucial as Sri Lanka took the game into the super over after it was tied. Batting first, the hosts posted a target of 17 runs in the super over, which the duo of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Suryansh Shedge failed to chase down, as Sri Lanka A registered a thrilling victory.ย
