Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming historical action film Chhaava, based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has landed in trouble ahead of its release next month. After the trailer was released earlier this week, a Maratha group raised objections to one of the scenes in the film.
The Sambhaji Brigade, a Maratha organisation, has taken issue with a dance sequence featuring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. In the film, Vicky portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, and Rashmika plays Maharani Yesubai.
The group is demanding that the scene be removed, claiming that it insults the Maratha king. While they appreciate the film being made about Sambhaji Maharaj, they believe this particular scene should not be included.

Chhaava is set to depict the legendary reign of the courageous Maratha ruler, starting with his coronation in 1681. Recently, the film’s makers released new posters of the lead cast, further building excitement among fans.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava features music by AR Rahman. Originally scheduled for release in December last year, the film was postponed to avoid clashing with the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule.
