The “Fast Family” is officially making its way to the small screen. Vin Diesel took the stage at the NBCUniversal upfront presentation on Monday to announce that a live-action โFast & Furiousโ series is officially in the works for Peacock.
ย
“Peacock is launching four shows in the Fast and the Furious universe,” he said.
ย
Besides just starring in the films, Diesel is staying close to the driver’s seat as an executive producer, ensuring the heart of the franchise translates to this new format.
ย
Itโs a huge move for the high-octane saga, bringing the adrenaline and “ride or die” loyalty that fans love from the big screen straight into their living rooms.
ย
The pilot will be written by Mike Daniels. Other details about the project are kept under wraps. With the release of the first film in 2001, the franchise has gone on to spawn 11 films that have earned more than USD 7 billion at the worldwide box office to become Universalโs most profitable and longest-running franchise.
ย
This year, Universal announced a new chapter, “Fast Forever”, which is slated to release in theatres on March 17, 2028.
