New Delhi: China’s leading newspaper Global Times has claimed that former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is alive and safe. The report came after several media outlets said on Sunday that Ahmadinejad had been killed in US-Israel airstrikes on Iran. Rupee slips to 91.29 against US dollar amid higher crude oil prices, intense global volatility

Mumbai: The rupee depreciated 21 paise to 91.29 against the US dollar on Monday, weighed down by rising crude oil prices, a strong American currency and intense global volatility triggered by escalating Middle East tensions. At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 91.23 and declined further to 91.29 against the greenback in early deals, trading 21 paise lower than its previous closing level. On Friday, the rupee had fallen 17 paise to settle at 91.08 against the dollar. New Delhi: Amazon’s cloud unit, AWS’ (Amazon Web Services) power to one of its data centers in the United Arab Emirates was temporarily shut down after objects struck the facility, causing sparks and a fire. The company said the incident occurred at around 4:30 AM PST in one of its “Availability Zones,” which are separate, isolated locations within AWS regions.
